Fundraising for bats

Anne Youngman

Anne Youngman

Anne Youngman worked for the Bat Conservation Trust for 15 years. She is now retired but continues to support the BCT by fundraising. In July this year, she will run a 105 kilometre (64.2 mile) ultra-marathon! The event starts from Melrose at midnight on Friday 18 July. Participants then follow the St Cuthbert’s Way long distance walking route and have 19.5 hours to reach Lindisfarne (before the tide comes in!)

Anne describes herself as “the Creaky Old Bat” and at 65-years-old, expects to be one of the oldest runners taking part! Read more about Anne's fundraising story here and help her along her journey.

Siobhan Bailey

Siobhan Bailey

Siobhan Bailey, a bat carer, ecologist and member of the BCT, will be taking on the Great North Run for bats on 7 September 2025! Siobhan loves the elusive nature of bats and chose to take on this amazing challenge for the BCT as our mission is extremely important to her. To help Siobhan raise some much-needed funds for bats, you can donate to her fundraising page here.
