The Connecting People and Landscapes project will work with farmers and landowners to mitigate the impacts of climate change and biodiversity loss, whilst increasing farm business profitability. Within the project we will focus on supporting farmers to access expert advice, funding and training opportunities. As well as trialing the use of a range of different management practices to help to reduce flood risk, improve soil health and support species recovery.

The farms will be supported with ecological surveys, soil testing, practice advice and habitat creation, specialist training events and economic analysis of business performance. The project will also create a farming network where farmers can join each other at talks, events and farm visits.

The project will also focus on improving public understanding and appreciation of the role farmers play as custodians of our landscapes and producers of our food though a combination of farm-based events and volunteering opportunities for on-farm citizen science surveys and practical conservation tasks.
