In 2020, we have at least 511 volunteers taking part and returning data for summer surveys (Roost Count, Waterway Survey and Field Survey). Participation was reduced this year due to COVID-19. We would like to thank everyone who has helped collect these important data, which enables us to produce population trends for the UK's bat species.

During the winter, licensed bat workers monitor hibernation sites around the UK and many of them kindly share their findings with the National Bat Monitoring Programme so that we can include the data in the species population trends we produce. So far this year we have received bat counts from at least 117 volunteers at 500 sites/compartments of sites.

Read on to see the species summary maps for each survey type.
