PLEASE NOTE - We're currently waiting for replenishment stock from our supplier but due to issues arising from Covid, and from high demand, there's a 3 month wait for orders. We're unlikely to receive any new rings before November.
We have no 2.9mm rings and a small stock of 4.2mm.
Also, due to the current COVID-19 related movement restrictions, BCT staff, like those at many organisations, are still mostly working remotely in order to protect themselves and help to reduce the spread of the virus.
It is therefore taking us longer than usual to fulfil bat ring orders at this time. Please do complete an order request below as soon as possible for your project but be aware of possible delays in processing (and note we cannot send out orders without having first received a copy of a current project licence covering ringing).
£28.10 per 50 rings inc. VAT (any ring size, 50 ring minimum order), excluding delivery.
Payment is required before rings will be dispatched. Please indicate your preferred payment method on the order form below. Payment can be made by BACS transfer, paypal or credit/debit card.
If you choose to pay by BACS or Paypal we will contact you with our account details after checking your licence. To pay by credit/debit card please ring 020 7820 7175 after we have sent you a receipt email.
Rings will be dispatched within two days of receiving payment. If paying by BACS transfer please allow longer for the payment to clear. We charge postage at cost. The following options are available:
- For orders of 50 rings, where guaranteed next day delivery is not required: £2.26
- 100 to 300 rings OR 50 rings with guaranteed next day delivery: £6.60
- 350 to 1000 rings: £7.40
- 1050 to 3000 rings: £9.70
Please note if Saturday delivery is required there will be an additional cost. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for more information and a quotation.
A list of ring sizes for UK bat species is included in the chapter on ringing and marking bats (Table 6.1) in the Bat Workers Manual (3rd edition) 2004.
Another list of which ring sizes are appropriate for UK (and European) bat species can be found as an Appendix to the Resolution No. 4.6 from the 4th Session of the Meeting of the Parties to EUROBATS in 2003.
When we are contacted by someone who has found a ringed bat we inform the original purchaser of the ring (where we have a record of the purchase). If the bat has been found dead we request that the body is sent to the original purchaser of the ring, if required. If the body is not required by the original purchaser of the ring we will request that the bat is sent to the Animal & Plant Health Agency.
For more information please contact Parvathy Venugopal at NBMP@bats.org.uk (note Parvathy doesn't deal with ring sales).
