Field Survey 2017

Based on the data received for 2017, 164 volunteers carried out the Field Survey at 186 sites. This survey involves walking a triangular transect within a 1km square and counting noctule, serotine, common pipistrelle and soprano pipistrelle passes.

Noctules were recorded at 84 sites (45% of sites surveyed), serotines at 40 sites (22%), common pipistrelles at 167 sites (90%) and soprano pipistrelles at 103 sites (55%). In addition, Leisler's bats were recorded at 1 site in Northern Ireland.
