It’s time to reveal our bat-themed birthday bonanza - a whole month of batty themed activities for everyone - as the Bat Conservation Trust celebrates our 30th year.
Starting on Saturday August 28th with the Big Bat Watch on International Bat Night we are hosting BatFest with 30 days of events throughout September, for members, supporters, volunteers, bat carers, enthusiasts, researchers, families, bat workers and also welcoming everyone who is new to bats and is curious to find out more.
Events will include our very own fun filled Bat Awards for Talent And Achievement (BAFTAA) including novelty awards for best bat impressions, batty laureates for creative endeavour, weird bat discoveries and a Batty Hall of Fame. We’ll have competition prizes too, plus talks and other online and live events.
Chris Packham, BCT’s President, said: “We’ve seen 30 years of superb achievements for bat conservation since our charity launched, and I am proud to be a long time supporter and president of the Bat Conservation Trust. I too am looking forward to BatFest and 30 Years Bats events - I will be joining celebrations and I hope to see many of you there!”
Keep an eye out for our #30YearsBats birthday hashtag for event updates to be announced soon.
The full timetable will be revealed soon - check this page for details or sign up to our #30YearsBats events mailing list here.
