Natural England is calling for a new approach to managing our natural environment if it is to stand any chance of adapting to climate change and the modern pressures of development. The Government agency launched its State of the Natural Environment report today (19 May).
The findings from the report have led Natural England to publish a Manifesto for the Natural Environment which outlines what needs to be done to set the UK on a greener path.
The Bat Conservation Trust, along with Butterfly Conservation and Plantlife, has welcome the launch of Natural England's Manifesto as a key tool in the effort to stimulate support and action for England's species and the habitats that support them.
BCT believes we have a wealth of wildlife in this country that needs champions like Natural England - the Manifesto gives clear direction to the government as to what is needed to conserve our natural environment for the future.
