Annual General Meetings (AGM)

The aim of the AGM is to provide our trustees and/or officers the opportunity to explain their management of Bat Conservation Trust (BCT) to its members. AGMs are held once a year and active members of BCT can attend and vote on resolutions such as approving (or not) the minutes of the previous AGM, annual report and accounts, appointment of BCT’s auditors, election/re-election of trustees and more. Members can also propose motions to be considered to a vote and it is an opportunity for members to ask questions.

The Memorandum and Articles of Association is the legal document that contains the rules about the proceedings of an AGM and this is available here. BCT notifies members of the date of an AGM at least six weeks before it is due, to allow members to submit any motions for consideration. Even if you cannot make the meeting itself you can still vote on resolutions by filling out a proxy vote form which is include in the AGM Agenda.

2024

This year, BCT’s AGM will be taking place in person, at the National Bat Conference on Saturday 14 September 2024 at 5:30pm. The National Bat Conference will take place from 13-15 September 2024, at the University of Reading. The AGM is a free event and you do not need to attend the National Bat Conference to attend the AGM. The AGM will be running as a hybrid event which means you can join remotely. Even if you cannot make the meeting itself, you can still vote on resolutions. We will make the agenda, this year’s annual report, draft accounts and review available online from 4 August 2024.
