Request to be listed on UK Bat Care Network - for ambulance drivers

This form is for those who have completed ambulance driver training, have found a carer to take bats to and are ready to be registered on the UK Bat Care Network. For more information on the Network and getting involved, please see our FAQ page.

You'll need to use a different form if you'd like to register as a carer in your own right or as a trainee.

Before completing the registration form, please ensure you've read the following documents:

BCT's Bat Care Guidelines

Good Practice Guidelines on Bats and Rabies

Wearing Gloves When Handling Bats

Suspect Bat Guidance

National Bat Helpline Rabies Enquiry Procedures

A Guide to Licencing for Bat Carers

Mealworm Allergy Information for Bat Carers

The National Bat Helpline's Call Handling Procedure

The UK Bat Care Network's Data Handling Policy

You can download a proof of vaccination form, along with a covering letter to help you get free rabies vaccinations if you qualify, via our FAQ page (see link above). The form needs to be signed by your doctor or nurse. Alternatively, you can upload a scan of your medical record that shows your name and the date of your most recent rabies jab(s). Please black out everything else. The carer you bring bats to must be a member of the UK Bat Care Network and must be registered with us as a carer in their own right, not as a fellow ambulance driver. BCT will contact them to confirm that they’re happy to work with you. You must already have a carer in mind to work with when you register; BCT cannot match you to one. If you do not know any carers in your area, please contact your local bat group.
