Landscaping for Nature and People

BCT are excited to announce a brand-new course with co-tutors and hosts the RHS at their flagship garden research centre at Wisley, with their showcase wildlife garden. Join a cross sector of industry professionals involved in the design and build of landscapes in this fantastic setting, to share knowledge and ideas on creating multifunctional biodiverse places that connect people to nature.

This course is for professionals working in the landscaping space, such as ecologists, architects, landscape architects and horticulturists, who want to have better conversations about achieving real wins for nature and people.

'Landscaping for Nature and Bats' course content:

By the end of the course, attendees will be able to:-

  • Summarise the threats to and importance of biodiversity in the context of ecosystems, wellbeing and place making
  • Identify challenges and opportunities to urban wildlife, including policy and legislative drivers
  • Understand key principles and plant-based solutions when designing biodiverse urban landscapes
  • Exercise judgement about when to contact appropriate specialists or stakeholders during the development process
  • Recognise the key roles and responsibilities required for successful master planning for people and wildlife
  • Apply key nature based solution design principles to master planning to maximise benefits to people and wildlife
