About our 'Bats for Roofers' course:
Many people who work in the roofing industry have encountered bats, but what do we actually know about them? What are we supposed to do?
Our built environment experts have designed this course to engage professional roofing contractors and give them the knowledge they need about bats in their industry and the legal protection they have.
The course will empower participants with the confidence to know what to do in a range of scenarios involving bats. Our experts will talk you through bat ecology, our resident bat species and have in depth look at their requirements at different times of year and how this links to the roofing industry.
Participants will be given a detailed overview of the latest guidance, how works can impact bats and our expert will walk you through the legal protection of bats.
This course is open to anyone, but designed to be particularly beneficial to those working in the construction industry for example roofing contractors.
'Bats for Roofers' course content:
This online course takes place over two afternoons with a small practical tasks for participants to complete between the two sessions. The online workshops are live and interactive with opportunities for participants to ask questions throughout the duration.
Lessons:
- Bat biology and ecology
- Bats in buildings: where, when, which bats, evidence of bats
- Taking account of bats
- Best practice and case studies
CPD: A Certificate of Attendance will be awarded that can be used as evidence for CPD.
