Based on the data received for Roost Count 2020, 358 volunteers were participated in this survey. The distribution of sites surveyed and species of bats recorded is shown in the maps below. Note: If no bat species were recorded during the 2020 surveys it does not necessarily imply that the species is absent from the area.
116 common pipistrelle roosts, 96 of which had common pipistrelles present.
98 soprano pipistrelle roosts, 72 of which had soprano pipistrelles present.
Unidentified pipistrelle species
36 unspecified pipistrelle roosts, 29 of which had pipistrelles present.
Brown long-eared bat
37 brown long-eared bat roosts, 28 of which had brown long-eared bats present.
34 serotine roosts, 31 of which had serotines present.
19 Natterer's bat roosts, 16 of which had Natterer's bats present.
Lesser horseshoe bat
49 lesser horseshoe bat roosts, 42 of which had lesser horseshoe bats present.
Greater horseshoe bat
25 greater horseshoe bat roosts, 20 of which had greater horseshoe bats present.
Only one brandt's bat roost and species was present at that site.
Grey long-eared bat
Four grey long-eared bat roosts, three of which had grey long-eared bats present.
Only one Daubenton's bat roost and bats were present at that site.
Six Leisler’s bat roosts, four of which had Leisler’s bats present.
One volunteer has returned data for a single noctule bat roost. This site had noctule bats present.
Five whiskered bat roosts, all of which had whiskered bats present.
