Join us at Springwater Farm, nr Killerton, Exeter to try out your tree ID skills, help collect tree seeds and nuts, and search for signs of dormice.
Develop and practice your tree species identification skills, look for and collect tree seeds and nuts and learn how to process them to help ensure they grow. We'll also be searching for any signs of dormice by hunting for nibbled hazelnuts on parts of the farm. Plus, learn more about the Connecting people and landscapes project and how you can develop your wildlife knowledge and surveying skills.
Who this is for:
- no prior knowledge or skills needed
What to expect:
- tea/coffee and biscuits provided
- free parking on site, (we may be able to cover some transport costs - please enquire when booking)
- there is a compost toilet on site
- Access: the walk will go at a gentle pace, and is mostly on level ground; the terrain will include rough ground and farm tracks, plus there may be muddy areas; we will be accessing fields via gateways, with no stiles or fences/gates to climb.
- please bring a water bottle
- please wear suitable clothing and footwear (walking boots or Wellington boots are ideal)
