A collection of workshops designed to work as both a complete programme and as stand-alone sessions, each workshop will help trainees progress with their bat licence training as part of wider working. Workshops are also suitable for individuals who are not licence trainees but still interested in developing their knowledge of British bats. As with our face-to-face training we will limit numbers to ensure that all attendees are able to get the most out of their workshops. The five workshops are: 'British Bat Ecology and Conservation', 'Bats and the Law', 'Bat ID', 'Roosts and Signs', and 'Training for a Licence'. We're happy to say that at least 20% of our profit from these workshops will be donated to support the work of the Bat Conservation Trust.

Knowledge and requirements

This collection of workshops is aimed at those new to bat work (either professionally or through personal interest) and with little or no bat knowledge or experience. A list of useful or necessary resources for the training will be provided with the joining instructions prior to the workshops.

Who Should Attend?

This programme of workshops is aimed at ecology students or graduates, ecological consultants, and bat group members working towards their bat licence or training to be a bat carer. It would also be beneficial to those who review or assess bat surveys. An electronic certificate of attendance for each workshop will be sent to all participants, this can be used as supporting evidence for a licence application in addition to other handling experience gained through the usual licence training procedure, or as evidence of undertaking CPD as part of professional institute membership.
