Summary of the Bat Group's activities:

Survey and Monitoring

  • The Sussex Bat Group regularly monitors specific roosts.

BCT Surveys

  • Some members of the group undertake the Field Survey; Pipistrelle, Serotine and Natterer's Colony Counts; and Hibernation Site Counts, as part of BCT's National Bat Monitoring Programme.

Bat Talks

  • The group holds regular talks for members and the general public.

Bat Walks

  • The Bat Group holds regular bat walks for members and the general public.

Other activities

  • The Bat Group attends local shows and events.
  • The group run's a bat hospital, where members care for sick and injured bats.

Publications

  • The group's newsletter, the Belfry, is sent out four times a year to all members. A sample newsletter is available on the Sussex Bat Group website.
