Surveying Built Structures
Target Audience: Ecological consultants- Intermediate level
This two-day course will allow participants to build on knowledge gained at other courses, and will provide an understanding of built structures and the techniques needed to survey them effectively. The course will comprise some theoretical classroom sessions, a daytime visit to a local barn, bridge and church and an evening practical exercise.

Course Content Includes:
- Construction of barns, churches and bridges
- Use of these structures by bats
- Survey techniques and equipment for these structures and their surroundings
- Identification of potential roost sites
- Practical assessment exercise of all three structures

Prior knowledge: Please note that this is not a basic level course, it is assumed that participants will have attended Bat Ecology and Conservation, Surveying for Bats and Interpreting Your Bat Surveys, or have the equivalent skills and knowledge.
