Summary of the Bat Group's activities:
Survey and Monitoring
- The Bat Group regularly monitors roost sites.
- The Bat Group does bat box checks at a number of reserves.
- The Bat Group has undertaken surveys for the RSPB at Farnham Heath and for the National Trust at Claremont Garden.
BCT Surveys
- Individual members of the Bat Group take part in surveys that are part of BCT's National Bat Monitoring Programme. The Bat Group provides bat detectors for these surveys. Hibernation site visits are organised on a group basis and members invited.
Other Activities
- The Bat Group does bat detector and sound analysis training for members.
Bat Talks
- The Bat Group has regular talks for members between October and March and also gives talks to the general public on request.
Bat Walks
- The Bat Group has regular walks for members. They also do walks for the general public though these are usually organised by other groups, such as the National Trust, and led by the Bat Group.
Events
- The Bat Group attends local events and shows where they have a display stand with leaflets, a bat quiz and merchandise for sale.
