Summary of the Bat Group's activities:

Bat Group Projects

  • The Bat Group covers Lichfield, Cannock and Tamworth Districts.
  • The group undertakes the following projects. Survey and Monitoring
  • The Bat Group regularly monitors one Daubenton's bat roost.

BCT Surveys

  • The Bat Group undertakes the Waterway Survey and the Pipistrelle, Natterer's and Brown Long-eared Colony Counts as part of BCT's National Bat Monitoring Programme.

Other Activities

  • The Bat Group does Annual training on basic bat work/ecology, surveys, care and rehabilitation as five modules, followed up, where appropriate, by other training for licensing.

Bat Talks and Walks

  • The Bat Group has walks for the general public that are usually preceded by short talks about bats. Bat Group members are usually involved as helpers on bat walks. The Bat Group also gives other talks on request.

Events

  • The Bat Group occasionally attends local shows and other events if requested.
