Planning and Preparation of Bat Surveys
This one-day course has been developed as a follow-up module to Bats and Bat Surveys, the BCT foundation course for ecological consultants. The course will allow participants to build on knowledge gained at the foundation course, and the course will provide an understanding of the extensive planning and preparation that is needed in order to carry out an effective bat survey.
Course content will include:
- Preparation of costings
- Understanding of key Health and Safety issues, including preparing a risk assessment
- Basic interpretation of aerial photographs to identify potential bat habitat and likely species presence
- Survey scoping leading to basic survey design
- Resource planning
Prior knowledge: Designed as a follow-up to Bats and Bat Surveys.
