Planning and designing large scale surveys (Roger Martindale)

This one-day course aimed at consultants will allow participants to build on knowledge gained on other courses, and will provide an understanding of the considerations required to plan and design large scale surveys. This course will look at the types of large scale developments that may be encountered, specific legislation and planning requirements for these sites, assessing the extent of surveying and identifying the techniques to use to ensure sufficient data is collected to sufficiently assess the potential impacts.

Prior knowledge: Please note that this is not a basic level course, it is assumed that participants will have attended Bat Ecology and Conservation, Surveying for Bats and Interpreting Your Bat Surveys, or have the equivalent skills and knowledge.
