NBMP Training

NBMP bat detector workshopAs part of the National Bat Monitoring Programme we run introductory bat detector workshops. These are designed to train new volunteers and enable existing volunteers to refresh their skills. Each workshop includes a classroom session on bat species call identification followed by an evening practical session in the field. Click here for a list of upcoming workshops.

If your group would like to host a bat detector workshop in your area, then please complete a Workshop Request Form.

These workshops are introductory courses designed specifically for volunteers to carry out our surveys. Professionals are therefore kindly asked to allow places on these event to be taken up by volunteers, and to attend the training courses tailored towards carrying out survey work on a professional basis.
