BCT's Biodiversity Department is involved in lobbying and working closely with a number of government agencies and statutory nature conservation organisations (SNCOs).

These agencies include:

• The Forestry Commission - England and Wales
• The Environment Agency
• The Joint Nature Conservancy Council.

Statutory Nature Conservation Organisations for the four UK countries are as follows:

• Natural England
• Scottish Natural Heritage
• Countryside Council for Wales
• Environment and Heritage Services
