Details to include in your Will

Should you decide to remember the Bat Conservation Trust with a legacy, you may wish to take the following wording suggestions to your solicitor for inclusion in your Will. They will help to ensure that your wishes are followed.

Residuary legacy (all or part of your net estate)

I give to the Bat Conservation Trust (registered charity no. 1012361) of 15 Cloisters House, 8 Battersea Park Road, London SW8 4BG (hereinafter called the BCT) the residue (or % share of the residue) of my estate absolutely and I direct that a receipt signed by the Treasurer or other proper officer shall be a good and sufficient discharge to my executors.

Pecuniary legacy (fixed sum legacy)

I give to the Bat Conservation Trust (registered charity no. 1012361) of 15 Cloisters House, 8 Battersea Park Road, London SW8 4BG (hereinafter called the BCT) the sum of £___ and I direct that a receipt signed by the Treasurer or other proper officer shall be a good and sufficient discharge to my executors.

Specific legacy (object or objects)

I give to the Bat Conservation Trust (registered charity no. 1012361) of 15 Cloisters House, 8 Battersea Park Road, London SW8 4BG (hereinafter called the BCT) [my shares in XYZ company/paintings/jewellery/personal effects] and I direct that: (i) such assets may be sold and the proceeds used for the general purposes of the BCT and (ii) a receipt signed by the Treasurer or other proper officer shall be a good and sufficient discharge to my executors.
