Bat detectors and sound analysis- level one
Target audience: Ecological consultants - Foundation level
This two-day course is aimed at professionals or interested amateurs and will focus on the analysis of calls recorded on broadband time expansion or frequency division bat detectors. BatSound will be the primary software utilised (other options may be covered if time).

Course content includes:
- UK bat calls recorded on time expansion and frequency division detectors*
- How to use the software to analyse field recordings, measure call parameters, compare to published results and understand common ways that call sequences vary.
- Practical sessions in the classroom and field
* NB: Anabat systems will not be covered in this course
Prior Knowledge: Designed as a follow-up to Surveying for Bats.
Equipment: Frequency division/time expansion detectors, recording equipment and laptops.
