Which bat species is this?

Noctule - correct!

Serotine calls have a more syncopated ("funky") rhythm, don't have the up/down "chip-chop" sound, and the peak frequency (deepest sound heard on the bat detector) ranges from 24 to 32 kHz (on average around 26 kHz).

If unsure which species, don't be afraid to record as "noctule/serotine unsure" if taking part in the NBMP Field Survey.
