Gardener’s World Live 2018 with an exciting collaboration

We are very excited to announce that this year’s Gardener’s World Live stand will be designed and installed by the Butterfly Brothers (Jim and Joel Ashton). The two brothers set up Hazelwood Landscapes Ltd in 2006, and have been designing and creating wildlife friendly gardens and habitats ever since. Their passion for helping Britain's wildlife is reflected in their slogan; 'working with nature, for nature'.

Gardener’s World Live will again take place at the NEC Birmingham, from 14-17th June 2018. It’s the ultimate show for keen gardeners, with inspiring show gardens, a floral marquee and a great line-up of gardening experts live, including Monty Don, Carol Klein and Alan Titchmarsh. There is also a section of the show dedicated to wildlife and species non-profits; this will give you a privileged opportunity to know more about the wildlife that you can (and should) encourage to visit your garden.

Our stand (G690) will show you what features you should (or shouldn’t) incorporate in your garden to make it bat friendly. Our team will be there to answer any questions you may have about gardening for bats and other wildlife.

Bats are misunderstood and undervalued which means they are often overlooked by gardeners but as their natural habitats become scarcer, our gardens are playing an increasingly important role in securing a future for bats. All UK bats feed on insects and other invertebrates with a small common pipistrelle being able to eat up to 3,000 insects in one night! In addition bats are a great indicator of a green and healthy environment, so creating a garden that's good for bats will also be good for the environment which we all rely on.

We look forward to working with the Butterfly Brothers to produce a wonderful bat-friendly stand and to share it with you. So if you are attending Gardener’s World Live do come and visit us (stand G690, just in front of the main GWL Theatre).
