BCT is looking into a case where chemicals used during pest control activity in 2016 have recently been confirmed as resulting in the death of 25 bats. The evidence available doesn't suggest intentional illegal activity. BCT will be talking to the Statutory Nature Conservation Bodies (Natural England, Natural Resources Wales and Scottish Natural Heritage) and approaching the Health and Safety Executive to review what the circumstances were that resulted in this fatal outcome and how this can be prevented from happening in the future.
