European Bat Weekend

European Bat Weekend (EBW) 2011 was once again a fantastic celebration of bats!

The Bat Conservation Trust launched the  Big Bat Map bringing you recommended local hotpsots and events as well as some great bat watching tips and the chance to share your bat sightings! Local bat groups , park rangers and community groups organised fantastic bat walks and talks right across the UK with over 100 events taking place. And we had loads of beautiful entries to our bat inspired writing competition. So bring on 2012!

This celebration of bats is held by local bat groups and the Bat Conservation Trust, to coincide with European Bat Night which is organised by Eurobats.  

We aim to encourage thousands of people across the country to see and hear bats in their natural environment by taking part in a range of events organised by local bat groups, wildlife trusts, countryside rangers and other organisations across the country.
